Alex Brown is a freelance tourism development consultant, marketing advisory and content service in Adelaide, South Australia. Alex’s experience is diverse having been immersed in the tourism industry for 14 years working with small and big business.

Alex established her freelance business in October 2021 based in Adelaide after having a strong passion for the industry and having a young family.

Alex has travelled globally and extensively throughout South Australia, giving her a strong understanding of its regions, communities and their individual identities.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Cultural Tourism and a Diploma of Management. Alex worked at the South Australian Tourism Commission for 9 years, predominantly in Destination Development, followed by 3 years working in local government in Glenelg on Jetty Road Development for the Jetty Road Mainstreet Committee. These various business advisory and project management positions have allowed Alex to work with the tourism, entertainment, leisure and retail sectors to assist with experience and product development, precinct planning, investment attraction, acquisition of grant funding, marketing advice and planning and becoming export ready.

Alex is creative and intuitive. She is inspired by innovation and what this can do to drive business and sustainable destination growth.

Alex has worked with start-ups, small and big business across a variety of sectors from growing wine tourism, working with coastal and marine tourism operators, nature-based businesses, accommodation properties, luxury product, major leisure attractions, Aboriginal experiences, golf courses, hospitality and retail businesses. Being exposed to an array of state-wide projects has given Alex an impressive insight into the delivery of major projects and the development of new products being launched into the marketplace.
